EV Alert & EV Fork

Every year thousands of accidents and near misses occur involving emergency vehicles, trains at railway crossings, dangerous road situations and accident blackspots..... Now they can be prevented. EV-Alert Vehicle Early Warning System alerts drivers to the presence of these hazards and minimises trauma, accident or death and their associated massive costs.

A world first in Road Safety

EV-Alert is a receiving and decoding unit that provides drivers with constant access to a special emergency radio frequency network. A light on the dashboard of your car or truck pulses when an emergency vehicle or defined road hazard is within an approximate 300 metre vicinity. By alerting drivers ahead of a potentially hazardous situation the risk of an accident or fatality is dramatically reduced.

With car sound systems, air conditioning and increasingly effective vehicle noise proofing, it can be almost impossible to hear approaching emergency vehicle sirens or approaching trains at railway crossings until it is too late.

$600 million US Research Program Confims the Need for In-Vehicle Hazard Warning System

In 1991, the United States Congress passed legislation allocating $600 million from 1992 to 1997 to improve mobility, enhance safety, improve the efficiency of existing transportation facilities, conserve energy resources and reduce adverse environmental effects.

The 'In Vehicle Safety Advisory and Warning System' (IVSAWS) is a Federal Highway Administration program to develop a nationwide vehicular information system that provides drivers with advance, supplemental notification of dangerous road conditions using electronic warning zones with precise areas of coverage.

The need for an IVSAWS program is real, especially in rural areas. In the IVSAWS program, techniques are being investigated for providing vehicle alerts for various roadway hazards at a point sufficiently upstream from the hazard to enable the driver to take appropriate action. Warning transmitters are deployed either temporarily or permanently. Further excerpts from the research show:

Who would fit an In Vehicle Hazard Warning System?

'75% of the general driving public want a system for their current vehicle' (rather than waiting for their new vehicle). 'most drivers would get the system for their own car first - 65%. 'the market is ready now'
